So this is really big news as per FTC(Federal Trade Commission) a lab grown diamond can now be called Diamond, it is not synthetic but actual Diamond which can be categorized as Cultured Diamond.

The FTC’s previous definition of a diamond stated: “A diamond is a natural mineral consisting essentially of pure carbon crystallized in the isometric system.” This is no longer applicable, the commission said Tuesday. The new listing does not include the word “natural.”

“When the commission first used this definition in 1956, there was only one type of diamond product on the market — natural stones mined from the earth,” the FTC said. “Since then, technological advances have made it possible to create diamonds in a laboratory. These stones have essentially the same optical, physical and chemical properties as mined diamonds. Thus, they are diamonds.”

So What it means for us as sellers ?

It clearly helps us to sell them to end consumer as Diamonds except we need to clearly mention in our advertisement or listing that is Cultured Diamond, While the Diamond coming out from mother earth will be called Mined Diamond.

This clearly bring a new journey for us sellers as now we can offer both to our customer either they want the rare earth mined diamond which has a story but a price one has to pay for the story or buy Cultured Diamond which is clearly cheaper than a Mined Diamond but you do not have a story behind the origin but surely build your own story moving forward.

So What it means for you as a customer ?

Clearly Customer is real winner so today in this world and time they have best of both the worlds to choose from , should one want to a story behind it as it being mined some kind of history and mystery one can go for Mined Diamonds or one also can go for something more organic, save the earth feeling where no conflict diamond is involved and go get Cultured Diamonds, which in reality is cheaper in price for the same look and feel.

Yes, I as a founder and owner of the company after tossing around in the night what should i do ?
